Acre regular Opine Ko$insky is back with a superb new EP of, you guessed it, crunchy, dirty hip hop beats with a focus on more DIY lo-fi sound sources teased from various bits of cheap kit. Title track and opener M.E. starts us off beautifully with some sumptuous and almost melodic underwater hip-hop, the treacle-like beats summing up his living with M.E. 'Not So Clever Now, Are You?' is a more uptempo hardware workout, leading us into the aptly titled and frankly barking ditty, 'Barking'. Ko$insky then takes us into faster, more danceable territory with the unashamedly accessible beat-box suffused XXX, before returning to a more sedate tempo, finishing us off with the grinding power and beat mashup of 'Funky'. This is a super release for fans of distinctly non-standard instrumental hip-hop.
